Careers at GoodBuild

Come build the layer
recruiters live in.

We're a small team building the operating layer for recruitment. More billings from the same headcount, everything traceable to live data, nothing fabricated. If that sounds like your kind of problem, read on.

Remote You own what you ship We back you on every call

How we work

Small team. Real customers. Nothing performative.

We're early, and we ship to live agencies every week. That shapes everything about how the place runs.

Proof beats opinion

Nothing ships on a hunch. Every claim we make about the platform has a check behind it, and the check has a control beside it, so a green tick means something.

You own it end to end

No tickets thrown over a wall. You talk to the agency, you build the thing, you watch it run, and you fix it when it does not.

Other people's data is sacred

We hold candidate records for agencies that trust us with them. That's the whole business. Everyone here treats it that way or doesn't stay.

Write it down

Why something is built the way it is, in the file, where the next person finds it. A decision nobody can reconstruct is a decision somebody will undo.

Speed with the brakes on

We move quickly, and we're ruthless about the things that can't be moved quickly: security, data isolation, and anything that sends a message to a real person.

Remote, honestly

Distributed across the UK and Australia. Asynchronous by default, and nobody is judged on when their light is green.

Open roles

Four roles, all written out in full.

If none of them is you but you think we're wrong not to be hiring you, say so. We read every one.

Hiring nowCustomer successAustralia Customer Success Manager A$80,000 to A$100,000 plus super and bonus · Australia, with international travel · Reports to the CCO

The honest version

You would be our first customer success hire. There is no team under you on day one. There is a handful of live agencies who pay us every month, a product that is in their hands daily, and nobody whose whole job is making sure those agencies get what they were sold. That is the gap, and it is the gap that kills companies at our stage quietly, one non renewal at a time.

Within the first year you hire the first account manager under you and set the pattern they work to. We would rather tell you that now than sell you a team that does not exist and have you find out in week two.

Why this job is different here

Most customer success roles are a calendar of check in calls and a dashboard nobody trusts. Ours is not, for one reason: the product writes down what it did. Every search, every screening, every document chased and every message sent is a row with a time on it. When you sit down with an agency owner you are not asking how they feel about the platform. You are showing them what it did on their desks last month, and what it did not do, and why.

That makes the renewal conversation a different conversation. It also makes it an honest one, which is the only kind that survives a second year.

What you'll do

  • Own every account after the signature. Onboarding, adoption, renewal, and the awkward conversation before the renewal rather than after it
  • Run business reviews with agency founders and managing directors using their own usage data, not a template
  • Grow accounts. Lite at £500 a month to Complete at £2,500, Client Finder on as an add on for £250, Candidate Sourcing for £400, always because the desk needs it and never because the quarter does
  • Spot the account going quiet before it goes quiet. Usage drops first and cancellations come later, and you will have the data to see the first one
  • Hire and lead the first account manager, then the second, and build the way this function runs from nothing
  • Carry what you hear on calls straight back into the product. We ship weekly and your Tuesday complaint can be in Friday's release

Where our customers are

  • Live today. Australia, the United Kingdom and South Africa. These are real agencies with real invoices and they are yours from day one
  • Next. The United States, where we already have a commercial lead on the ground, and Japan, where our route in is through a UK group with a Japanese parent. Neither is a market we pretend to have won
  • The hours that come with that. Working from Australia you are ahead of everybody. Some mornings start early for the US and some evenings run late for the UK and South Africa. We flex the rest of the day around it rather than pretending it does not happen
  • And you will go there. This is not a desk and a headset. You will be on a plane to London, Johannesburg and across Australia to sit in front of the people paying us, and we would rather you took the extra few days at the other end than flew home on the Friday. A valid passport and the freedom to travel are essential

What we're looking for

  • Three or more years in customer success, account management or sales operations in B2B SaaS, and you can talk through a renewal you saved and one you lost
  • Recruitment or HR tech is a real advantage. If you have sat inside an agency or sold into one you already know what a bad Monday looks like
  • You know your way around the CRMs agencies actually run on. Bullhorn, Vincere, JobAdder, Loxo, Mercury
  • Comfortable with the numbers that matter: retention, expansion, what an account is worth over its life and what it cost to win
  • You can hold a room with an agency owner who has been in the industry for twenty five years and does not want to be sold to
  • You want to build the function rather than inherit it. This is the part that rules most people out and it is the part that matters most

How this differs from the Account Executive role below

The Account Executive opens new business and runs their own accounts. This role owns the whole book after the sale, sets how retention and expansion work across every market, and builds the team that does it. If you want to be closing new logos every week, apply for that one instead. If you want to own what happens for the three years after the logo is closed, this is the one.

Hiring nowNew businessAustralia Sales Executive A$80,000 base plus commission · Australia · You hunt, the platform finds the leads

The pitch, in one line

Most sales jobs hand you a list and wish you luck. This one hands you the companies that are hiring this week, why they're hiring, and what they're hiring for, because our own product goes and finds them. You're not prospecting in the dark. You're calling people with a live problem you can already name.

Why that changes the job

Client Finder is the thing no competitor in this category has. Drop in a role and it comes back with companies actively hiring for it, scored against what our customers actually place, built from public hiring signals and awarded contracts. We use it on ourselves. Every morning your pipeline has new names in it that weren't there yesterday, and every one of them has a reason attached.

So the targets are big. We're not going to pretend otherwise, and you shouldn't want a job where they're not. But you're hitting them with the sharpest lead engine in the category pointed at your own desk, rather than with a phone and a hope.

What you'll do

  • Open new business across Australia and the UK, by phone, LinkedIn and email
  • Run sharp discovery and confident live demos to agency owners and directors
  • Work the Client Finder list every morning and turn signal into conversations
  • Take a deal from first call to signature, and hand over an account that's set up to succeed
  • Keep a clean, honest pipeline and a forecast you can stand behind
  • Tell us what the market is actually saying, including the parts we don't want to hear

What we're looking for

  • You have carried a number and hit it, and you can talk through exactly how
  • You're comfortable with big targets and you would rather be paid on them than protected from them
  • You can take a complex product and make it plain to a non-technical buyer in ninety seconds
  • Thick skin on a cold call and patience on a long one
  • Excellent written and spoken English. You'll be talking to directors in Sydney and London and you need to sound like their equal
  • Startup instincts, strong self-motivation and clean, honest reporting

What you don't need

  • To be technical. We translate the product for you and back you on every call
  • Years inside recruitment. Curiosity and fast learning win here
  • To be in a particular city. Work from anywhere in Australia

Hiring nowEngineeringRemote Software Engineer £75,000 to £85,000 · Remote, UK, Australia or US · Reports to the founder

The honest version

GoodBuild is already live. Real agencies, real revenue, real candidate data moving through it every day. It's a multi-tenant platform on Postgres and serverless functions, and it was built fast by a founder directing AI, hard, for a long time. It works, and it's in production right now. What it needs next is a second serious pair of hands to take it from tens of agencies to hundreds without a single thing breaking. That's this job, and we would rather say it plainly than dress it up as a greenfield fantasy.

The engineer we're actually looking for

Someone who, with modern AI tooling in their hands, ships what a team used to ship, because they know precisely what to hand to a model, precisely where a model quietly gets it wrong, and precisely which parts they have to reason through themselves. That judgement is the whole job. Anyone can generate code now. Almost nobody can tell in ten seconds which generated code is going to fall over under real load with real money attached.

You should be the kind of engineer other engineers ask for help. You should have strong opinions about data models and be able to defend them. You should be able to look at a live system you didn't build, understand it faster than feels reasonable, and start making it better the same week.

Why this is genuinely hard

  • Hundreds of competing recruitment agencies, one platform. Their candidate data must never touch. Row level security done properly isn't optional here, it's the product
  • Real-time voice agents doing live calls with candidates, at a cost per minute that has to stay on the right side of the margin
  • Integrating with CRMs built twenty years ago, some with barely an API, and making it feel instant anyway
  • Every agency white labels the platform and switches on a different set of modules. One codebase, hundreds of faces
  • Recruiters aren't patient. Anything slow is treated as broken

What you'll do

  • Own multi-tenant architecture and tenant isolation. Many agencies, one database, zero leakage
  • Build and own the connectors into any CRM or ATS, with clean auth, syncing and field mapping
  • Make the platform quick under load and boring under pressure
  • Push the AI workflow end to end so it runs faster and sharper every week
  • Own deployment, environments and testing, so shipping stops depending on one person
  • Hold the security line, and be the person who says no when something isn't safe to ship

What we're looking for

  • Several years building and running production software you were personally accountable for when it broke at 2am
  • Deep Postgres. Row level security, query performance and schema design that survives contact with real data at real volume
  • Real experience wiring systems together. APIs, webhooks, OAuth, rate limits and all the messy edges nobody documents
  • Serverless functions, modern JavaScript and React
  • Fluency with AI development tooling, used as a force multiplier, plus the judgement to know exactly where it ends
  • You're happy inheriting a working system and making it stronger rather than starting again

This is probably not for you if

  • Your first instinct on a working codebase is to rewrite it
  • You need a defined ticket queue and a manager sitting between you and the problem
  • You want to build infrastructure nobody is using yet. Ours is carrying live agencies today
  • You think AI tooling is either a gimmick or a replacement for understanding the system

Hiring nowAccounts and growthAustralia Account Executive, Global A$65,000 to A$75,000 plus uncapped commission · Australia, with international travel

The role

A driven, highly organised Account Executive to own the complete client lifecycle. This is a true fifty-fifty hybrid role, built for someone who enjoys growing long-term relationships but still gets a thrill from closing a brand new deal. Our footprint is global, so this isn't a standard nine to five. You'll manage clients and open new business across Australia, the UK and South Africa, with the US on the horizon. As an early hire, how you run accounts sets the pattern for the team that comes after you.

How your week is shaped

  • Monday and Tuesday, existing clients. Check-ins, resolving issues, driving adoption, and finding the accounts ready to expand
  • Wednesday and Thursday, growth mode. Outreach, discovery calls and pitching to new prospects at home and abroad
  • Friday, admin. CRM, proposals, contracts, and planning the week ahead
  • Real life interrupts occasionally. When it does, your growth days move rather than disappear

Hours and travel

  • Shifted hours. To cover the UK you'll regularly work a different shape of day. Some days that means the morning free and starting at 4pm to hit the UK morning
  • International travel. You'll head overseas and interstate to represent GoodBuild, attend trade shows and close deals. A valid passport and the freedom to travel are essential
  • Real autonomy. We care about outcomes, not clock watching. Work late for a UK pitch and your time back the next day is respected

What we're looking for

  • Experience in a sales-driven environment, ideally into recruitment agencies, HR tech or professional services
  • The hybrid mindset. The patience to nurture a relationship and the thick skin to take rejection on a cold call an hour later
  • A commercial instinct. You grow accounts, you don't just service them
  • The ability to turn complex AI into plain, outcome-focused value for non-technical buyers
  • Excellent written and spoken English, and clean, honest reporting
